((Good to be back doing spriting stuff again! Had to start off with something implied to happen soon in the epilogue of Secrets of the Dragon’s Tear.
 
I know naturally there’s going to be people coming on who had not seen the story yet. And I imagine some things said in this update are going to be very confusing given for one thing… we never canonically got Starlight’s Mother. I’d recommend reading the full story if you can find the time. But I however can point out the most important ones in relation to this post in terms of seeing who Starlight’s mother was revealed to be (Though might not be hard to guess if you consider the only mention of who she is in this first update is she had been Celestia’s student at one point. She’ll even be appearing pretty soon, though perhaps in a rather unusual way) as well as how Starlight came to decide to be Twilight’s student once again. As yes, for however long there is until I close down this blog, she’ll be her student once more.
 
Starlight’s part isn’t all what SOTDT was about, but she certainly has a major part of it that’s going to have a good amount of follow-ups as I return to the sprite comics and/or answers. Here’s links to mostly chapters focusing on Starlight.

Also as a bit of a bonus, I did somewhat of something that’s kind of both an author’s note post-story and at the same time a bit of an overview on Starlight Glimmer. Though in short, Starlight was a character during the show’s run I was really lukewarm to. But then I started writing this story and realized she had much more potential that she just never really got even close to reaching. I didn’t really care about Starlight for the most part one way or the other before all this… but now… she’s actually a character I’m both happy I got to expand on her on my own but also at the same time lamenting of what could have been done to endear Starlight much better then they did. This means you can probably expect to see Starlight a little more often, and quite frankly that surprises myself. If you had told me back to about after Season 6 that eventually I would of cared about Starlight to do what I did in the story and beyond. I would of thought that meant they actually were going to do something significant with her in the show, not essentially me expanding on her myself in a way that she’s now an at least somewhat more satisfying to the point she actually feels like she plays a much bigger part of the overall arc of the entire 9-season show’s events. At least in terms of how they went over in Genie Twi’s universe, along with a few other characters to deepen that further. Most notably… a certain little evil filly))
