Honestly I’m now convinced the leaks are 100% real, proof? In 2017 the leaked info showed the planned a character who was specifically inspired by Danny Devitto, he was in the original MLP movie from the 80’s, and now this leak says he is a voice in it. More info is that Neon City which was planned to be a Dragon Dimension in the original planing stages, was reworked into a futuristic dragon land city, one that is populated by kirins and dragons, and another pony race called Longma, which are more dragon like than pony.
The city is segregated from the rest of Equestrian thanks to the Alicorn currently in charge.

You can tell this project was worked on by fans, both in writing, and in concept, as well as the art(a pegasister from France worked as a freelance artist on the film and her character designs seem to prominent.
The animatic only proves this info right, the father looked like he was talking about the legend of the Mane 6 and now this indicates that he is singing about a time when the pony races along with others weren’t separate, but loved together thanks to the Council of Friendship and the Elements of Harmony, but those have been lost(shattered by King Sombra) and the new MC and her friends must recover them and end the rule of the Alicorns.
The Alicorns of the movie are nit the kind, understanding ones from the past(Luna, Celestia, Twilight and Flurry Heart) no these ponies, make Nightmare Moon look like Joan of Arc. The Alicorns behave more like the Skekis from The Dark Crystal(possible inspiration for the series)
The movie can get away with a little darkness, just as the 2017 movie did.

In any case, we have got an idea of what the movie and G5 will be like, and can thus draw conclusions about the action and the pattern in the next generation. We now know that Equestria had become a large realm that has probably become much larger, but split into many separate autonomous regions or city-states by “race”, here one should rather look at “cultural affiliation” as information about Neon City showed that different creature groups live together, and since MC could establish contact with others outside his tribe, it means that Equestria had become a cold common society without solidarity, divided by culture and “race” (how to define real pony animal species and creatures such as dragons and the yaks ? They are not human.).
The alicorn committee, as stated before, may have created a dysfunctional world under the idea of establishing harmony by ensuring peace and strict order with strict regulations as there had been conflicts between different groups in a world where strong cultural identity is essential. To preserve what Twilight Sparkle had left behind, the alicorns eventually chose to abandon her ideology of friendship and fellowship. This can open up corruption, manipulation and miserable conditions for many across the country when everyone has to live separately in their own regions. The attempt at harmony in a diversified country ended in corrupt harmony.
MC live in a world that was obviously dark compared to what was seen when Twilight Sparkle went to Ponyville for the first time, but definitely not by human standards and of course not by “The Dark Crystal” where genocide, cannibalism and much more with treason behind every corner was part of the tyranny. It is very unlikely that the alicorns will be tyrannical, instead they will be autocratic, arrogant and corrupt in their belief that they know best, and that their brutal laws that promoted the “Separated but Equal” principle are the only thing that will guarantee stability.
One of the alicorns does not agree with this, and thus will help MC and his friends, if possible to find the elements or at least something that can convince the alicorns to reconsider their rule. Maybe we’ll see MC and his friends invoke Twilight with the Mane 6 in confrontation with the alicorn committee and possibly the villain who may be in the background. For even if the Mane 6 should be dead, the harmony magic is not dead. The movie wants the Mane 6 as legends for our hero and his friends - not only as a symbol of hope, but also as guides to the Harmony magic.
This is just speculation. But when the movie ends, a new generation will start, where MC and his friends will discover a world and at the same time learn friendship, tolerance and solidarity.

I don’t see any kirins in the animatic. If I am not wrong, those are the mane 6 and the protagonist running up a rainbow. You have two of them running alongside the siblings/father and daughter and then two of them again, finally the last two show up. But I agree with the rest of what you have written.

It just gets more and more interesting; since G5 will be different from G1 and G4, that our hero here is a stallion with family (maybe just the daughter), his circle of friends who will “replace” the Mane 6 will include different beings and one will have a background from the year 2021 rather than year 1910 as in G4, a futuristic Equestria that is likely to be a shining image of humanity’s dreams in our world. Also, the Mane 6 will not disappear, as they have become a source of inspiration with lore preserved for posterity, meaning that they will appear several times in the G5 for our hero who needs to reintroduce friendship in the much larger Equestria. Even after death or having retired (Twilight, Spike) they will still be vital to Equestria.
It’s like the G1 that left a mysterious past from which only small pieces came and a legendary background for the new world created by Lauren Faust, G4. If several centuries have passed between the G4 and the G5, the Mane 6 will be like the pillars - legends for future generations. Better tribute is not possible.

The person who posted the picture here, has come up with contradictions and hints that he thought he only has a vague picture of the content of the planned movie. “The father”? “Dragon Dimension”? Probably this Neon City (Equestria’s answer to Tokyo?) Is just one of several sites that MC will visit in search of the elements or future friends. But this leak suggests two things; firstly that the movie and the G5 are now finished, which only need to be made public - secondly that it is not just the Americans who are involved in the work.
It sounds like G5 won’t have so many, “a girl can do that,” references of famous male characters. Could you link me some of your sources?

There we learn that the empire that Twilight Sparkle had created, where Equestria is expanding to include many different cultures and different “tribes” probably on more than one continent, had been subject to a committee made up of the alicorns to guarantee peace. Twilight may have disappeared, and her ideology was forgotten in times of crisis - it must be remembered that leaders are in the habit of seeking complete solutions, to protect the great realm, guarantee peace and ensure coexistence - elected the committee to practice “Separated, but equal” principle. Some of this has been seen in Equestria’s past, but this time the windigos will not come forward, lured by enmity and unkindness.

This may be what happened to the alicorn committee which obviously consisted of royal and magical powerful alicorns that may be descended from the G4 alicorns, who will continue to rule autocratically as in the past and thus equate wisdom with austerity. It is meant that they can not be evil or malformations as in “The Dark Crystal”, just misunderstood, power-hungry and corrupt creatures who in their task of guaranteeing harmony, ended up poisoning it by leaving out the friendship philosophy after Twilight. Corrupt harmony. Everyone obeys them, but does not live happily as they have to abide by strict rules in a deeply divided and cold society. MC saw this, and wanted to do something, so he began to dive into the past and learn about the Mane 6 and Princess Twilight Sparkle - the founder of the empire thrown into darkness - and their philosophy of friendship.

Who can this alicorn be? Twilight Sparkle yourself, maybe? Or her descendant?
In any case, it is very interesting that Equestria has become so expanded, and so transformed, that the land that was meant for the three tribes of the ponies, has become a diverse and deeply integrated country with many different “breeds” and beings. They probably cooperated, but did not live together, as one was to contribute to “common good” according to the committee’s wishes. The bat ponies - the kirins - the seaponys - we learn here that the longma will finally appear in the end - and maybe more others. Maybe we will see the sphinxs?

He is one of the biggest sources of inspiration for the MLP artists and writers, and since the movie is produced by the MLP fans, there may be a strong opportunity there.MC does not want to “end” the rule of the alicorns, he wants much more than this - he wants to re-establish the philosophy of friendship and tear down the walls so that those who have been separated from each other can seek friendship and happiness together. And he must, after all, have the alicorns with him if he succeeds in converting them in the finale of the movie. After all, the alicorns are natural leaders as the most powerful pony creatures - but it’s time for them to let others go so that everyone can live together.
In “The Dark Crystal” it ended with the Skeksis melting with the urRu after a “cleansing” had happened to the corrupt crystal. That’s what MC and the unknown alicorn will achieve (or will the alicorn betray MC in the end?), Put an end to corruption and bring harmony back on track. After the reform of the alicorns, there will then only be one mission left for MC and his friends; to spread friendships throughout Equestria, where they need to learn this again.
