The internal logic rules were never clear, so we don’t really know if the humans in Equestria Girls really know about magic or not. And, after all the chaos, maybe the army would’ve interfere in the issue, especially because Sunset was a potential danger.

Fortunately for the canon, the amity is truly magic, hahaha! And just to clarify, I don’t expect realism in EG, because it’s not an adult series in the first place.
