Wrong, it’s actually a Dodge Circuit EV, a rebadged Europa prototype from Dodge, which was originally previewed as Chrysler’s attempt to make an electric sports car to rival the 2008 Tesla Roadster.
 
When the original Tesla Roadster was launched back in 2008, Chrysler LLC reacted to Tesla and figured out that they can be like Tesla by making their own electric sports car, so they went to Lotus and proposed to them to make one just like the Roadster. Lotus agreed, then at the 2009 North American International Auto Show, the prototype of the Circuit EV was unveiled, while Tesla uses the Elise as the base of the Roadster, Dodge went with the Europa for the Circuit EV.
 
The one we’ve looking at above is a much earlier prototype of that car (actually, painted in bright yellow), it was simply just called the Dodge EV back then and the whole design remains unchanged from the Europa, just with Dodge badges and brandings instead of Lotus badges. However, the one that was shown at the 2009 NAIAS was different, painted in orange and aside of the Dodge badges, it got a different front fascia.
 
While the Europa uses a GM 2.0 Ecotec Turbo engine, this one replaces that engine with an electric motor, producing 268 HP (200 kW / 272 PS), accelerating the car from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than five seconds, while its quarter mile run is in the low 13 second range with a top speed in excess of 120 MPH (193 Km/h).
 
The car was unveiled alongside with the range-extended versions of the Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, originally it was going to be put into the production in 2010, but things didn’t work well as the automotive industry crisis of 2008–2010 haunts various automakers by that time. Ultimately, the car was cancelled due to that, the project of it were scrapped, and Chrysler files a bankruptcy in 2009, right until Fiat saves them in a few months later by that same time, and by 2014, they were merged as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA US LLC).
