The mayor was telling the truth, it actually worked. Bless that gryphon. I’ll have to see if I can get him a gift. The nicest gift I can think of. Anything I can think of seems to pale in comparison to what he gave us.
I can barely believe it myself, and were it not for Emilia walking around in front of me I would think myself insane.
I finally convinced Emilia to go see this “Seeker of Knowledge” yesterday, so this morning I carried her over to Birdsong College. The mayor met us there and showed us the way into the basement. We had some reservations considering all the weird paths we had to take down to it.
The mayor was quite insistent that she meet this Seeker fellow by herself, so she walked in with her crutch while the mayor and I stood outside. The last I saw of Emilia before her healing was her standing in front of a room full of pillars. I don’t know why I remember this next part, but for some reason it’s burnt into my memory. On the pillars were strange symbols. One looked like an M, another an M with a line under it, and an upside V.
When she returned she was whole. Her leg, her claws, her wing… All healed!
After some crying and thank yous we headed home.
I thought she should rest, but she was wanted to dance right away.
I forgot how much I missed her dancing.
Mulberry decides to take this book with her. It’s not like Emilia or her husband will need it…
so it’s possible they really aren’t transformed ponies after all, but rather the minions that this seeker of knowledge sent to imitate the ponies and convince them that their loved ones have been miraculously healed. that would imply that these beings were transformed to be more like ponies, rather than ponies transformed to be less like ponies. and since these monsters continue to imitate the ponies/gryphons even with no more ponies arount to fool, that proves that the monsters themselves are incapable of not acting like the ponies they imitate, even if their imitation is extremely unconvincing.
still what are the chances that every couple in mournthread had some malady which only the mayor’s miracles could cure? were the rest just outright killed by the monsters, like all those “dancers” mulberry found?
