Just a few quick personal observations:  
• Try to be moderate with graphics settings, at least initially; low-ball the DirectX version!  
• Hardware age seems to be the significant limiting factor, more than [GDDR SD]RAM quantity or CPU/GPU frequency.  
• Speaking of settings, ZOMG there are SO many options now! Check ‘em all out, try not to drool. ;)  
• The system for customizing & repairing your weapons, outfits, etc. is almost D&D-level detailed.  
• The 64-bit X-Ray engine is STABLE, f*cking amazing, and I wish Lost Alpha could be ported to use it.  
• Debug menu (F7) is one of the best implementations yet.  
• My installation takes up 23 GiB; the downloads themselves (.7z archives) weigh in just short of 12 GiB.  
• If you put it on a typical hard drive, expect long loading screens, around a full minute to two on an old machine.
 
 
Sorry to go on about it, but I ♥ the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and I’m blown away by the quality of Anomaly.

I kinda just realized how well Pony and The Zone/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. go together, since Przewalski’s horses are thriving in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
 
Has anyone else given S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly a try yet? I’m finding it pretty damn amazing. :D
