I’ve noticed a lot of rabid bronies yelling that Twilight isn’t sailor moon… Of course she isn’t… She’s Sherlock Holmes! Think about it… She’s an antisocial super genius with blatant Asperger’s Syndrome and very few friends, (before she came to ponyville, we’re led to believe her only true friend was Spike, who fills a role similar to that of Dr. Watson. Plus Celestia calls on her when a problem is too big or convoluted for official operatives or investigators, much like how Scotland Yard would call on Holmes when there was a crime they couldn’t solve. Plus Shining Armor clearly draws parallels to Mycroft Holmes. Also just as Holmes had Professor Moriarty, Twilight has an archenemy in Trixie.
