In the early years of this century within the caves of Hoofingten, multiple cave paintings were found of a large Pony-like creature that would live in the ocean, This was later found to be the one depicted in the religious texts Dia Belbina of the ancient Church. This creature was referred to as the Leviathan, said to be larger than the continents of the planet, it was the ruler of the sea, and protector of its Majesty. Many would worship it as a goddess, despite it very much not being a member of the Pantheon.
 
She has walked across the ocean for 25,000 years,(which for her is only 25 years) swallowing down any ships that are unfortunately enough to catch her gaze. For she did not grant them permission to travel upon her Seas, sending them down to her four stomachs.
 
The First Stomach: This stomach’s function is to smash down large objects entering the stomachs, sending them into the second stomach.
 
The Second Stomach: This stomach’s function is to digest organic matter as well as some metals, and send the lifeless metals to the third stomach.
 
The Third Stomach: This Stomach’s function is to melt down the remaining metals from the second stomach with it’s much more extreme acids. All to send the resulting mush onto the fourth and final stomach.
 
The Fourth Stomach: The function of this last stomach is to sort out the solids and liquids to their designated intestines.
 

 
However, unbeknownst to her at the moment,  
their lives a sea-faring society of Ponies she’s swallowed over the years. They have formed colonies upon the sea within the Second Stomach, some on actual Islands she’s swallowed, some on mounds of flesh rising above the liquid surface.
 
Some try to help Ponies that are trapped within the Leviathan, while others have taken to the Lawlessness of the Sea of Acid, creating a slew of Pirates that loot and pillage the waves. Such is life within Amphitrite’s Second Stomach.
 
Though pirates, and sailors will often get in to battle, there is a creature that lives within the second stomach that is fears by pirate and sailor alike, though mystery outside world, inside, the Kraken is very reel, a massive parasitic ten limbed cephalopod, always ready for its next meal.
 
Due to Amphitrite’s large size, her stomach has some form of atmosphere, allowing some weather phenomenons to occur. Though usually relatively mild, such a small rain storms, occasionally, when exactly cold water enters her stomach, it can create intense pressure differences, they can lead to intense storms, tropical storms, and even acidic water spouts.
 
There are many species of plant, fungal hybrids that have adapted to grow inside of her stomach, feeding off of the various toxins that enter, some even produce light providing illumination to the sea. Why this means most species are not edible, a few species do actually produce certain types of fruit. - Noblebrony
