Practice reference sheet of a MLP fancharacter! Mostly just to explore how to construct a ref. sheet and whatnot. Learned a lot.
Finally finished this darn reference sheet. :’DJust a MLP nextgen I’ve had floating around in my head for a while now. She’s a baby of Discord and Princess Luna. This was mostly practice with constructing a reference sheet, so now I can go on and do one for all of my real OCs.EDIT: Finally got to writing a general profile for her! You can find some basic information on her under the cut. I’ll likely add on more periodically as I sort out where she lies in my MLP Universe.Name: Princess NikomosName Meaning: Very slight modification of Nokomis, the daughter of the Moon from Ojibwe traditional stories.Nicknames: Niko.Sex/Gender: Female.Parentage: Discord (father), and Princess Luna (mother).Species: Draconequus (has Alicorn ancestry on mother’s side).Special Talent: High magical ability, and earns eventual control of the moon itself. Lacks a cutiemark, however.Occupation: Up-and-coming princess, groomed to take over duties from Princess Luna one day. Currently, she’s enrolled in Celestia’s school for gifted unicorns as a personal protege.Appearance: Is a draconequus, though her mis-matched limbs come from “night” animals, or creatures often attributed to the night/moon. Front limbs are wolf, back legs are deer, ears are rabbit, tail is cat, and right wing is bat. Horn is thought to be from changelings like Chrysalis, though some figure it’s just a very crooked unicorn horn.Personality: This little mix-matched cutie is much like her mother from first glance: well-mannered, dutiful, composed and elegant. Much to her father’s chagrin, Niko’s not very interested in causing mischief for others. In fact, she’s got very little tolerance for tomfoolery in general! With her birth came world-wide attention and excitement (and a little bit of wariness and scrutiny, knowing who her father was). Discord and Luna took measures to shield their firstborn from the public, and had their daughter grow up happily in the fortified Canterlot castle. As their child grew, Luna began taking steps to groom her daughter into becoming a proper future protector and royal of Equestria. Despite all of the difficult lessons and studying she had to be put through to properly prepare her for the demands of leadership and eventual dominion over the moon, Niko took on challenges eagerly and seemed to thrive under pressure. While polite and very kindhearted, she has a tendency to restrict herself to those she’s known from a very young age (like immediate family and close friends). This is mostly due to the fact that she got quite a bit of negative attention for (1) being another draconequus, and (2) being the daughter of the infamous Master of Chaos himself. While she was fortunate enough to have her parents fiercely shield her from hurtful comments and fortunately prevented their daughter from becoming jaded with the general public, it did leave a mark.Though not bitter, Nikomos is generally uninterested in forming new friendships, as she can think a bit pessimistically of how others will react to her appearance. It seems she’s also inherited Luna’s desperation to be accepted by her subjects, as Niko has unconsciously tried to distance herself from her father and all the negativity attached to him. Though not as stoic as Luna, Niko isn’t known to get out very much and doesn’t quite get most normal social cues. As antisocial as she may be, Niko is very open and warm to those she’s known for a long time. She’s respectful and thoughtful of those she loves, always willing to listen to her friends and family and offer up a wise response.Princess Nikomos greatly looks up to her Aunt Celestia, who she’s idolized as the perfect leader. When she enrolled in her school, she became one of her most talented pupils, on top of sharing a very close family bond. Admittedly, Niko could probably benefit a bit from the same process Twilight Sparkle went through to appreciate friendships beyond her little circle, but time will tell if she’ll be as taken to the idea…
