Liked the vocal style of Aephenmer and Gloryhammer like most power metal bands I have a lot of respect for but I can’t get into their music sadly.
 
Sounds stupid to say, but I guess these just aren’t “dark” enough for me if you understand.  
The darker and more evil the better. I’ve grown disenchanted with gitar solos and licks, now it’s all about the riff.
 
Always appreciate getting reccomended music tho, very greatful that you took time to recommend stuff for me. ^^

Ohhh, you need to take a look at some newer stuff!
 
Powerwolf (supernatural Armenian theme, lots of Latin and German tossed in)  
Alien Weaponry (3-piece, raw and powerful, lots of songs in/about Maori)  
Aephanemer (melodic death metal, female lead who really nails it)  
Skálmöld (Norse-themed, sung in Icelandic in the traditional Norse poem form)  
And of course, a list of metal bands wouldn’t be complete without:  
Gloryhammer (power metal, fantasy theme, another band by Chris Bowes of Alestorm fame)

When it comes to “metal” bands here is an abridged list “Metalica, Ozzy, slipknot, Zeal & Ardor, Machine Head, In flames, Behemoth, Rammstein, Bad Omens, Turbonegro, Truckfighters” there are way more but thats all I care to mention.
