their political moves are being halted (impeachment, Russian stories, aid withhold for the Corona, their debate fiasco where they can’t even count the votes) and every time it does Trump goes up in popularity,  
they are having inside fighting with that old boi Sanders,  
Virginia a historically republican state went democratic and now is on the verge of building a very big igloo,  
they let a billionaire buy his place in the run disrespecting a lot of voters and  
MSM is in panic doing nothing but lying, contradict itself, saying that the orange boi is bad and censoring his speeches.
 
To be quite honest the democrats are in shambles and divided between the nominations while republicans are united behind the orange boi. I don’t feel like you are keeping a clear-eye around you, the USA is heading back to the center and the democratics are so far left there is no way they will take part in any of this change.

To clarify regarding the evidence: According to Ballotpedia, there are MORE state level Rs going D than Ds going R. Your anecdotes don’t change that. If you have some better (more comprehensive, i.e. not anecdotal because there are always counter-anecdotes) evidence then perhaps you could make a case that the trend at the local level is different from what’s happening at the state level. But even if that’s true, the original claim, regarding trends at the NATIONAL level, would still lack the evidence you thought it had. And I’m suspecting you don’t acknowledge that to be the case, which is the point I’m making here. Everyone is wrong sometimes, but the people who can’t admit to it are doomed to keep being wrong because you can’t correct what “isn’t” an error.
 
I try to be clear-eyed about opposing evidence and arguments because we are all capable of being wrong, and I want to be right. When you’re wrong, admitting to being wrong makes you right. Just like magic.

Call it pedantic if you want, but I think it’s important to communicate intelligibly with each other. When you say “members of Congress”, I think you are talking about members of the U.S. Congress, not random local government officials. “Semantics” isn’t automatically a bad thing to care about. We can’t communicate effectively if the words we use mean different things. It also helps avoid the problem of people thinking you are moving the goalposts on them. ‘Cause what you’re doing now looks exactly like moving the goalposts.

But a lot of people legitimately hate Socialism for good reason, the economy was doing great that allowed more people to get jobs (least until Communist Flu came to us recently), and everyone knows the Russia Collusion conspiracy theory and Impeachment were absolute farces and a waste of everyone’s time in what’s actually a witch hunt.

Wikipedia has it that there have been only two party switches in the House of Representatives in the last decade, both in 2019: one from Republican to Independent, and one from Democrat to Republican. And no senators have switched in that time. Since “one” is not “more than a few”, the two most likely possibilities appear to me to be: one, Wikipedia is out of date; or two, you are living in a media bubble that is grossly misinforming you. So I ask you: is Wikipedia out of date?
 
(For completeness’s sake, I looked at Ballotpedia which listed 7 state legislators switching away from D (one going to R, the rest elsewhere) in ’19 or ’20, and 9 switching away from R in ’19 or ’20 (5 to D, 2 elsewhere).)
