Yeah. And like Duke in the G.I. Joe movie, Twilight was nearly killed off in the My Little Pony movie. But In the Transformers movie, Optimus Prime didn’t.

Well you know that Twilight did fight the Storm King without magic even tough her magic was drained by the Storm King’s staff. It’s true that the Mane Six, Spike, Skystar, Capper, Captain Celaeno and her pirate crew fight the Storm King and his army with or without magic in the movie. But now she and the three other princesses got their magic back after the Storm King died.

I do know that in the comics they delve much deeper into his character, but I haven’t read them so I’m judging him by his involvement in the film.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the screen time they did give him, I just think that more would have sufficed.

Actually he did, he spent several years taking over lands and getting away with everything he did, and defeated anyone who stood in his way, and he lied to Tempest that he’d repair he horn if he’d tell him where h can find one of the most powerful magic in te world to make him unstoppable, and he sent her to do his evil work without get get is claws dirty, and when he showed up and stole Twilight’s magic, the princesses magic and proberly Equestria’s magic, he had Equestria taken over, he had everypony inslaved, everything that none of the villains were so close too, all he had to do was to kill Twilight and that’s it, but sadly for him he failed, because he probably thought Tempest would be the one to stop him, but it was Twilight and her friends who stopped him, but he survived the storm and tried to turn them into stone so have them out of the way and get the staff back and proberly smash them to death, but Tempest managed help too and save the Mane 6 by turning him to stone along with herself and the Storm King is now nothing but a pile of a broken statue.
 
The Storm King was practically the first MLP villain who was super close to winning against the Mane 6, he had everything that he managed to take over the years and he had all the power to take over the world and Twilight took it all away from him.

Let’s not forget, one of his most iconic roles before the MLP movie was as Cotton Weary in the Scream movies.

Plus, he was played by Leiv Schirmer, the same guy who played Saber in X-Men Origins.

But he was still a plenty fun enough villain, for what we’ve got.

The Storm King could’ve been so much more, and yet… he wasn’t :(

That’s what I like to think, meaning Twilight whipped Storm King’s ass good and took back the Staff from him.

Something like this could’ve happened when Twilight and the Storm King got sucked into that tornado.
