Terrible how? She almost managed to take over Equestria, and she would have gotten away with it if not for dumb child rhyme no one knew about and Twilight having paranoia which turned out to be justified for plot reasons and not just Cadence growing up. Then, second time, she took over again and it took unlikely coalition of hangers-on she didn’t knew about to foil her plans - and even then, she lost mostly for plot reasons. Third time, she did infiltrate Canterlot multiple times and stole all info she wanted, plus managed to expertly split public opinion - that’s 3 for 3 successes…

This is painfully true.

It kinda is it alters her weight and dimensions if she turned into something bigger she takes on its weight and physical properties (as seen with the rockadile) not to mention it would give her loads more attack variety especially since they’d be just as powered up as she is in her base form

Shapeshifting isnt exactly an offensive weapon / move.

And also I think, with the power-up she got, she most likely got a limitless power of shapeshifting, so she could turn into Ursa Major with her full size.

If she had been thinking, she could have transformed into something small and maybe gotten away, but instead she chose to waste time ranting and look what that got her.

It’s not that surprising. Chryssy’s actually a terrible changeling in terms of the whole “subtle infiltration and insinuation” thing. She prefers the brute force solution; look at what she did to Canterlot.
 
Plus, when you can just shoop-da-woop your problems away, you don’t need to be especially clever. Tirek and Cozy fell into the same trap once they got supercharged. (Tirek did it twice!)

Yes its like chrysalis forgot that she could shapeshift and become any animal and any one and just went for the raw power route when she became ultimate chrysalis.  
And I’d love to see the former shapeshifting mid battle a lot instead of going for ‘blast it with lasers’
