Two years past in story and I doubt Luffy ever change his outlook in life. The pirate way of life has changed numerous individuals (Kuro, Crocodile, Moria and such) into cynical a-holes, while Luffy’s still aims for being Pirate King and take out the challenges in his way as they come. Will still take Luffy over Naruto and Sasuke, the emo/angst fest, just got too unbearable. Luffy, Goku and Pinkie Pie are just more like able to me.
 
If one wants a main character who is serious, go with Ichigo of Bleach, Guts of Berserk or Jotaro Joestar of Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure. Those are recommended, meantime, i’ll still be enjoying One Piece, if you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to stay and watch it.

Here’s how I’d imagine their first chat:  
“Hey, do you poop?”  
“Hey, does your penis stretch too?”

Luffy and Pinkie pretty much go together. They’re both silly, cheerful ,like to party, care deeply for their friends, and etc.
 
I can understand what you’re saying, but I’m sure we;re going to see a serious Luffy in the upcoming chapters.

I’m conflicted… I just love Pinkie, but I think that Luffy is pretty much a moron (it took seeing his BROTHER killed before his very eyes to make him go more serious… and it didn’t stick). Oh well.

I think i should add one piss to my hide list.
