I found a Spanish subtitled version of the final episode on dailymotion and I could understand.
They said they would go to Silver Shores to spend their retirement, just as Luna said at the beginning of the season.
I am very happy that the theory that they would cease to exist was not true.
I know people, myself included, writing fics that completely ignore the 9th season. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s meant as a finale, rather than a continuation.
I can tell you for sure that Celestia and Luna fans will definitively do that.
