Sometimes things are growing so massive they collapse under their own weight. At some point the Chinesse government will make one step too far and the ground will collapse under them. Only thing I would hope for is for it to happen as peacfully as collapse of the USSR. Authoritariansim always eventually becomes unsustainable.
@Vladiverse
Except the USSR never really went capitalist and free market. China did.
Besides USSR collapsed before the internet was a thing. They also went down due to bad economic policies.
There’s also stark cultural differences between the two countries. Confucian principles heavily discourages questioning superiors for example. Asians are traditionally comformist. Which is why communist government survive in Asian countries as opposed to Eastern Europe.
Besides, we’re seeing Russia falling back into authoritarian rule under Putin.

I am still here and still “Fuck the Chinesse government 100%”, freedom to Hong Kong, Tibet, Uyghurs and everyone under opressive bootheel of a totalitarian communist regime.

What can most folks really do except to voice their concerns?
We don’t like what China does and would love for them to stop but We kinda can’t do much except to inform people that there’s an issue.
I say people should quit nosing into issues that they clearly don’t know much about especially when their attention span and commitment (if I can call it that) only stretches as far as the next trending hashtag.
Bet most of those “free Hong Kong” folks are now signaling their virtues over the next “big thing” the MSM bring up, tapping away on their MADE IN CHINA devices thinking they’re doing humanity any real favours. Meanwhile Hong Kong is now on a fast track to become a police state firmly in the iron grips of Beijing.
Let this be a testament to how much the disconnected folks really “care” about most issues.
It’s always the same story, whether America or China.
“Oh no, we don’t like it when citizens rise up against tyranny and oppression.
Why don’t you shut up and enjoy your tv and video games?”
More and more the communist party demanded to take away the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong citizens,
unwilling to wait for the agreement to wait many years later.
Do you think these teenagers are protesting and fighting for fun?
Do you think they’re just mindless thugs?
Maybe they are just some of the few people in this world willing to stand up for what they believe is right.
I will never cry for police in these regimes, American or Chinese. Same violent bastards everywhere.
Let me know when they stop denying medical treatment for Hong Kong protesters first.
At least the average Chinese citizen is not as horribly insane and violent as the average American citizen.
HA! is democracy the freedom to set fire on the streets, forcing other people to give up the freedom to go to work and school, beating traveler from China unconscious just because they are Chinese?
It’s weird you know, we Chinese know the good, bad, and ugly of China and the Party, and then you guys comes up and be like “you don’t know anything!”
we reach out because we have a wall, you guys build a wall around your mind because you don’t have one;
you don’t know that we know, and that’s the problem (funny sentence lol) I support the Hongkong Police against the rioters who use “democracy” as a name.
bullshit,Most local residents in Hong Kong hate those young people,Because they are destroying everywhere,They set fire to the police station,Even destroying the grave and throwing ashes of the deceased,They do not respect the ideas of others,They forced passers to support them,A journalist claimed his support the police result was imprisoned and beaten.
These are not democracy,these are riots.
I still stand by what I said there, cause I think it’s cool that Chinese citizens will get that opportunity to watch MLP in their native language first. I think we should be positive or at least neutral about another country or group of people getting some kind of benefit first, or simply winning first.
I can be positive about one thing for China, and negative about another.
