Honestly think he made the right decision with skipping part 3. Jungle/Tribal setting to me seems a bit better than a cruise ship. I’m not sure what kind of scenario would happen on a cruise. Also, it may be to link the old comic he was working on to this one.

So let me get this straight… you acknowledge that Derpi comments are are garbage pit, but when a mod steps in to point out that they are a garbage pit you suddenly contest the assertion, but you will not back up your claim because you… agree with the mod???
@Feather Duster
I haven’t read all of them, only some, I was referring to what the admin replied to and what I pesonally saw. Again, point out where the insults are, I have no intention of going through the garbage pit that are Derpi comments.
@The Frowning Pony
Please point out where anyone complained about the quantity. I saw complaints about Shino’s style looking worse, and I saw complaints about Shino not continuing a comic he had decided to make in the first place. And I saw no insults anywhere.
@Background Pony #CF3F
This isn’t about the quality of the absolutely free art being delivered, but about an apparent insufficient quantity of completely free art being delivered. For which the person working to create all these wholly free pieces of art is seemingly deserving of not criticism, but insults.
There is no clearer example use for the term “entitled” than this.
What a weak rebuttal inflated by pretentious writing. Thank you for targeting the weak points of my argument with semantics. “The odds that Shino genuinely couldn’t see a way to move forward are low” This is actually the exact reason he stopped part 3, you claiming “low odds” here is based on nothing but your assumptions, which have nothing backing them up other than you liking the setup. It also is completely unreasonable to suggest he wouldn’t be able to find motivation to finish this comic. Again, both part 1 and 2 were completed front to back with no issues, and Shino also just completed the remake of Space Ponyos, then made physical copies, a project that took months of “hard work” that you claim he lacked before. All this really is though is entitled people on the internet, thinking they have any idea why Shino makes the decisions he does, and claim laziness when they don’t get what they want.
@Armagedonus
The alternative was that neither comic continued. This is preferable. It is not laziness. Go throw money at him if you want something different.
@Background Pony #3C25
In other words, instead of doing them both, he decided to do the worst action possible and instead of 2 comics we will have only 1…
Like I said earlier, he became lazy.
This makes me concern about Apogee stuff…
@crapfest
He didn’t skip to part 4 because he couldn’t see a way forward, he did it because he couldn’t decide which comic to continue so he said fuck it and combined them into one.
@Iwatchfortheplot
He wasn’t downplaying it, and frankly I struggle to understand how you came to that conclusion. He was stating that it’s unlikely that Shino would magically find the inspiration and/or motivation necessary to do the hard work this time around if he lacked it before. Not an unreasonable stance to take, given that what there was of Part 3 was a perfectly fine setup for Lyra to do her thing. The odds that Shino genuinely couldn’t see a way to move forward are low.
Furthermore, he wasn’t ignoring the existence of Parts 1 and 2 by saying that Part 3 was the original, he was saying that Part 3 was the original Part 3, i.e., he was alluding to the fact that, since Magic Touch Part 3 was aborted prematurely, the Magic Touch Part 4 is effectively the Magic Touch Part 3.
So your logic is because he couldn’t come up with a good direction for part 3, its a bad idea for him to ever attempt a new idea for Magic Touch? I don’t think anyone cares what you feel is the “smartest move” here because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
Just ignore the fact that part 1 and 2 have a beautiful beginning middle and end. I have no idea why you think part 3 is “the original”. Using terms like “magically” to downplay all the hard work and commitment this kind of stuff takes really just shows ignorance.
According to the comments I’m wrong
Good to know I’m not missing out on the lewds
It just works
I… didn’t say anything about what they said?
They’re speaking of what happened in the unwritten part 3, my friend.
Edited because: Grammar :(

I’d implore you re read the comments then, and if you still fail to see the problem, then you’re part of it.

Just because something is free doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to complain about its quality.

Go complain about artists giving you free fap material elsewhere for a bit.

Yall are getting to hopped up on the semantics. Just enjoy what’s provided.
