In her first appearance I disliked her, though she was a little too perfect. But now that’s being put toward something worthwhile: being an ideal girlfriend to our boy Spike. With all the shit he puts up with, he deserves to be happy.

I agree. I think the people behind the show finally addressed Sparity and did it maturely, it heavily implied and showed that Spike has moved passed his childish crush on Rarity, but he is touched that Rarity does actually care for him, which is why he makes time for his friend Rarity, it’s now a much healthier relationship, Rarity seems to see Spike as a little brother on level with Sweetie Belle, in fact the way she was sad, it came across as “First Sweetie Belle….now Spike.”
 
Spike and Gabby make a logical couple. I’m happy Spike finally has a crush that seems to be mutual and non creepy.
