I’ve mostly been of the opinion that changeling drones are genderless, and by their very nature, are unable to differ much from the rest of the hive both in mind and body. They are physically inhibited from looking any different than their fellow sentinels and their whole design towards serving a queen keeps them from having minds of their own, so… I thought it would be an interesting challenge to play with variety in a design with lots of limiters.
 
Dufour is mostly indistinguishable from the other changelings, as equally devoted to the hive as all the rest, but her vast knowledge of semantics– her primary contribution to their cause– is ironically what stirs her forbidden curiosity about life outside of it. Her high ranking affords her some spare time to dwell on this, but until the hive is liberated her duties drown out most opportunities to pursue them further.
