I guess the moral of the story is that mechanical devices aren’t built for booping. :p
I think you’re onto something there.
The Nissan Altima my Dad has been renting has a malfunctioning radar component – part of its collision avoidance system – so it’s throwing an error code and beeps once in a while. By the looks of the front bumper cover, the car has seen some “spirited driving”, and my bet is that a smack on the front end was enough to destroy whatever sensor is located under there.
So yes, a hard enough BOOP! to any electro-mechanical snoot will cause damage. :)
I think that most robots put their ‘scrunch snoot’ sensor in their robo-noses, so boops mess em up pretty bad.
You know I have never stopped to consider if robot ponies are resistant against boops, I shall research this now.
