We have “Cutesalis” Tag.
All the villains were gathered for a final outing. King Sombra showed that his ego eclipsed all things and that due to that, him working together with anyone would never work.
His attack was indeed imposing and terrible to behold, but Discord knew that Sombra would fail if the 6 even tried to fight back properly with their own power, and failing that, Discord himself showed even a mighty attack from Sombra was something he hardly noticed and he would have counter attacked with some terrible (yet silly) return attack should Fluttershy be in any real danger.
That was mainly what Sombra was used as; to show that a single assault, no matter how “complete” a victory is, will fail unless even the villains work together. I believe Sombra was chosen as his intro, the Crystal Empire, was not very well liked and most people liked the other three much more.
Hopefully.
And yeah, I’m almost feeling sorry for Sombra.
I feel like they’re not going to kill off these villains. If anything they’ll just blast off again/live to fight another day. For whatever reason they hate Sombra and just want him killed of ASAP
Sorry for the little rant below.
The creators of the show leave me perplexed. They elaborate on the villains, make them likeable (or yet even more loveable in case of Chrysalis) and to what end? If the baddies end up like Sombra, I imagine it’s going to upset quite a number of people, myself included. Can’t imagine a win-win scenario here. Should we brace ourselves for a painful failure or a most likely dull reformation thing? I’m just worried about my bug waifu… :c
