No. It’s the one on the right. Seriously. Chrysalis is basically a g-rated succubus. And emotion vampire.
Says he’s leaving, comes back with nothing but “No, U!”
Pretty standard.
I have no freaking idea how DB is assigning codes to BP’s.
You just have described your own behaviour.
I’ve seen plenty of Starlight fans just like you, dude, and all of them have done exactly the same thing you’re doing; meeting an differing opinion with veiled insults, throw a fit when you think somebody’s talking about your precious favourite pony in a tone other from adoration, and then declaring yourself a winner by exactly projecting own words onto someone else’s without having learned a thing from the exchange.
Reread my comments if you want, if don’t it’s ok.
If it’s important for you to feel always right and be a “winner” in a discussion, then feel free to do this. Feel this way and wear an imaginable laurel leaves inside your own world. So long XD
(I notice that the # responding is for a different BP, but since you’re saying it’s you, I’ll respond accordingly.)
The entire basis of your ‘choice’ ranting is the choice presented by Starlight. There has been no shift, you just can’t seem to follow a chain of reasoning for long. Certainly explains your views on these things. You don’t seem to understand what projecting is, either.
Translation: “I’ve run out of points, been completely proven wrong, and have nothing to show for it, but I’ll die before I admit it!”
I’ve seen plenty of Chrysalis fans just like you, dude, and all of them have done exactly the same thing you’re doing; present bogus arguments, throw a fit when they’re dismantled, and run away without having learned a thing from the exchange.

your current filter. It’s ok, laughter is a good emotion. XD
I mentioned Starlight one time, and on unrelated note. You however keep trying for some reason to shift discussion onto her. It seems that you think that she is somehow is being attacked? Talk about projecting more.
I think that’s enough ad-hominem’s in this chain already. I’m afraid your actions are only reinforcing my point. Instead of keeping discussion you decided to immediately ridicule and marginalise opinion that differs from yours.
Choosing to accept also would have been making the choice. You’re really bad at this.
That’s an awfully emotional response for a normal expression. Now I have to wonder; do you have money on this? Because if so, why?
Either you understand what I was getting at and are feigning ignorance because you, like Chrysalis, can’t admit when you’re wrong no matter how many times the reality of the situation slaps you in the face, or the point went completely over your head. Possibly because you’ve buried it in the sand.
So you’re aware that you were projecting Grogar’s actions onto Starlight? That what you’ve been saying makes no sense at all?
Tl;DR: She had the choice, she make the choice, and the fact that she made the choice is good. Just following the trope would be bad.
Nice imagination, bro! I really like how you yourself already got all suspicious about opinion different than yours and even invented an ulterior motive for me while simultaneously dismissing the same behaviour for Chrysalis. XD
Oh that’s simply divine! Says dictatorship is bad, trying to dictate me to think something. I assure you, I’m not in the kindergarten anymore to chant by your command. XD
Projecting is without a doubt a fun form of entertainment, but one that needs to be used in moderate amounts.
I never said you did, but you do defend her mistakes like you’ve got money on this.
Repeat after me: She’s much happier going crazy in the woods alone, and now roped into a plot in which she’s most likely seen as a disposable tool (which wouldn’t have happened if she’d been willing to change), rather than leading the swarm with all the food they could ever want. Maybe you believe it already?
You seem to think that going with Starlight somehow would have been depriving her of a choice. By the same logic, she has no choice but to dwell on empty dreams of revenge and slip slowly into madness because she refused. Both notions are false; she could have done anything, gone anywhere whether she accepted or not (though accepting would still leave the swarm with the choice of whether to follow her), but she chose to say no, chose to hide in the woods and plot, chose to act on those plans for revenge, chose to draw faces on logs and talk to them rather than make any effort at living allies of any sort, chose to keep blaming anyone and anything but herself for where she wound up. The only one who hasn’t offered her much choice is Grogar, because his ultimatum seems to be “do my bidding or die.”
You’re acting like it was Starlight that forced that on her.
Accepting and leading the swarm competently now that they have everything they need wouldn’t have deprived her of a personality. The notion that people somehow cease to be their own people because they’re willing to make friends and cooperate rather than strong-arm everyone into doing things their way, like the megalomaniacal dictator Chrysalis has proven she wants to be, is nonsense.
You seem to have missed the part where I said that I don’t preach about “Ponies are bad, Chrysalis is good!”
It’s your evaluation of her choice. What matters is the very fact of having a choice. I daresay that after this choice I liked her character even more. She have shown that she has personality, has her own opinion on the events and not just some plot device to show that “Friendship is non-negotiable!”
She still has those choices. The choices she’s made has led her to living alone in the woods, making log friends and muttering to herself. Starlight gave her a choice, and she chose very poorly. Which part of this are you not getting?
@PonyPon
Starlight, Discord, Thorax, and Trixie, the beings that infiltrated her castle, are all living proof, and even if they weren’t, even if Starlight was a complete stranger out of nowhere and there were zero redemptions before that point, it’d still be stupid to turn her down when she offered all the love Chrysalis and her swarm could ever need on a silver platter.
This ‘brainwashing’ thing you guys are on about is ridiculous, but even if Chrysalis does believe that (because assuming of others what we know of ourselves is relatively common and Chrysalis might be the kind of loser to believe that if she can’t get anyone to follow her without fear, force, and actual brainwashing, neither can anyone else), it’s still her fault she’s alone, because deciding that everyone was brainwashed is a logical failing on her part, not those who jumped at the chance to finally get what they’ve always been after or those who opened the door for them, and her, to do that.
>was also a dictator
>the outsiders made her people turn against her
>ran away and schmed revenge
“I was a leader like you. I, too, lost my followers.”
“I lost my children.”
Yes, that.
Pride is what seems to have been the reason why Chrysalis rejected Starlight’s offer, since she seemed to give it a thought before the anger kicked in.
I gotta admit, I think “assumed brainwashing” is a new one as far as “reasons that have no basis in canon” go. Maybe I haven’t looked around enough though.
Edited
Don’t you think that he could do it to indirectly prove or disprove his suspicion without outright saying that his kin is mass-braiwashed? Seems like a not completely illogical assumption.
He had no problems assaulting people or causing public property damage. He was lucky Thorax didn’t just eject him. He clearly had no qualms about speaking his mind.

If you had a suspicion that somebody has mind-altered your relatives, would you admit it to them? Risking being put to the mental institution and never know the truth?
I feel like if Pharynx thought Thorax had mind fucked his entire race, he would’ve mentioned that to him.
But besides, a lot of the Changelings were still assholes even after the transformation.
Edited
To be fair, going from warriors to weenies in the blink of a some energy looks very much like a mental alteration.
I still think people try to read Chrys as more altruistic than she is. Pharynx didn’t seem to believe that the Changelings had been mentally altered. He just thought they had all chosen to become weenies. This idea of mental alteration is a line of logic that only fans ever seem to bring up. Not any of the characters in the show.
Like, I myself genuinely do feel sorry for Chrys. But I also think that a lot of what happened was a result of her own pride.
Yes, she decided to hatch shemes about to how to get revenge on those, who deprived her of everything. And that’s certainly not unheard of. I’m not trying to persuade you that ponies are bad and she is good. I’m just trying to make you understand her. To understand her possible feelings and opinion, her point of view. Rather than saying flatly like some people do: “Chrysalis is bad because ponies are good!”
She would also assume they’ve been altered, wouldn’t she?
More than bringing in enemies, she might also heard of them being altered to the ponies’ whims.
And for all she knows, that’s exactly what happened in front of her.
We and she are working on very little info.
You’re just assuming they are brainwashed. Also, Pharynx stayed. Because he cares about the hive. And to him defending the hive was the most important thing.
But even so. Yes, she ran off. And they let her. They didn’t force her to do anything. And how has Chrysalis used this freedom? Has she gone off to live her life? No. She’s decided to hatch schemes in the woods and fantasize about ruling a kingdom of ponies. She believes she’s ENTITLED to rule.
Chrysalis has recieved some of the biggest Draco in LEather Pantsing I’ve ever seen.
