ah i see… thx for the answers :) Btw if you click on venus tag, you can see in her description on top of the page that Derpibooru states that she is a Unicorn, so i assumed that people would know she is one.

I follow this common said rule of “Tag what is on the image, ignoring outside content.”
I don’t know if Derpibooru has this rule, but it makes sense. If you don’t see a horn and it’s not relevant to the image overall, people would be confused if it was tagged with “unicorn”, especially if that person was specifically looking for pictures of unicorns for the sake of seeing a horn.
Mars doesn’t tag the race -> People trying to help with tagging see a lack of wings or horn -> Venus tagged with ‘earth pony’
Btw i noticed that she is tagged as an earthpony in quite a bit of her images, despite her being an Unicorn….(i know that her horn is well hidden beneath her mane and that she rarely uses magic, but its still there or did Venus get redconned into an earthpony at some point?)
