That would’ve completely out of character for twilight especially since she was trying to get starlight to calm down and see the error of her ways ie bad writing.

Twilight was able to control the magic of all four alicorns let alone contain that alicorn magic without the use of the Element of Magic. If that doesn’t say who’s more powerful then I don’t know what to tell you.

Remove Starswirl and Starlight and you would right. Also, no one is really saying Twilight being the Element of Magic is the reason for her being so powerful. She just always was. The flare up Twilight had when she got her Cutie Mark wouldn’t have been nearly as powerful as it was otherwise. I can guarantee that if Starlight was there instead Spike’s egg wouldn’t even had hatched, let alone being grown to near adulthood.

This is where you are wrong. Starlight is smart enough not to display her full power at that point. She would have gained nothing by doing it there.

They fought at the end of cutie map, and Twilight was stronger, forcing her to flee. Then she comes back and fights her and beats her several times before the speech is what caves her in.

Twilight copied in moments a shield spell that Starlight spent years perfecting. Twilight was explicitly conveyed to me more magically apt. Fast forward to the finale and suddenly Starlight is as strong as the element of magic gg bee gees.

I like to think that twilight has more raw magic power than starlight however starlight makes up for the gap in power through skill, ever heard the proverb that a master of the blade can beat an amateur using nothing more than a stick? Well twilight isn’t the most combat oriented pony as seen with her fight with Tirek in season 4 where her attacks lacked any finesse to them she tried to beat Tirek by completely overpowering him plus starlight had been on the run and planning her revenge for some time so she likely trained herself to be able to outmaneuver twilight through skill rather than power, talent doesn’t equate to experience after all.

Do people honestly think “friendship magic” counts as an excuse when Twilight literally had to talk Starlight into submission because she was made literally stronger than her for no other reason than forced redemption?

Friendship magic. No pony beats Twilight in that regard.

Starlight may actually know more spells than Twilight, but in terms of raw power Twilight is essentially in a league of her own. The issue is that Twilight has been too humble to utilize it or even have the desire to.
