No change of heart happened. This one just doesnt deserve millions of upvotes.  
The fact they are in much worse situations is kinda important for some people. This picture is rather boring too, composition is bland, we dont see much of the character, the window effect is pretty lame, if not jarring. All of which can be excused because this seems like one of the artists’ earliest works, from 4 years ago. He definitely improved vastly since.
