you had a good run as the bad girl chryssi… but sadly you are WAY past your prime in that respect… you would be more useful to the story if you returned to your children and accepted their new ways… I mean a king has to have a queen after all

Wasn’t that image from like the Return Of Queen Chrysalis first comics? I highly doubt the script was conceived back then.
There aren’t many inages where I can seque into IDW: I’d like to assume IDW recieved advanced notice DHX was planning Chrys’ comeback in one of their pre-production scripts, and so, something like this may be why they let Chrys and her army escape the castle they became trapped in in issue 4. Similar to the relationship between DHX and Berrow concerning development cycles.

eh. for getting them down i give her credit. containing them is an issue though. that is a large amount of power to contain. well beyond discord.
more so, her plan to replace them is doomed to failure. utter failure even. all it is gonna take is the lookalikes of luna and celstia to show they haven’t afucking clue what the yare doing, and they are exposed.
but she sitll has celestia and the rest.
that is a consistent theme with chrysalis. her plans work in the sense that they are fast paced and bold, guilful. but they utterly lack sustainability. she has no forsight.
Like Freeza leapfrogging right over the Androids, Cell, Dabura, and Majin Buu.
also i realized one possible issue. somehow making discord unable to just Win here. at least it would take celestia, luna, and twilight to overpower discord. how does chrysalis keep him at bay?
ultimately i am rather split about this whole thing. it is well excuted, outside of the fact that we again get princess warfing (least it is still a good reason, unlike that whole sombra somehow petrifying the princesses, who are far stronger than him, thing). so all my issues are personal. jsut wish they were in a better light.
do like that againa chrsyalis plan is very flawed. she is good are bold guifuly moves but her plans lack all forms of longevity. there is no way the drones will be able to fool ponies for long, if at all. though she sitll has the princesses.
maybe but they beat sombra, were threat enough that even discord needed to try and work around them, and likely beat many unnamed foes.
though as said, they arebeing attacked without warning, likely in their sleep.
They fight unfairly by nature, and let’s face it, these alicorns aren’t exactly in fighting prime.
yeah but how do you do that to something as powerful as alicorns?……
think that a part of it would be that they had to be phsycially removed immediately, maybe sent to the hive where the massive numbers would overpower them instantly. chrysalis showed a veyr similar magic herself.
no way any amount of chngleings could take an alicorn in a fair fight, so they fight unfairly…….
god celestia needs to get better security.

she is not even personally there right now clearly……. which is part of the issue. i have a hard time imagining that the changeling drones could overpower them…….. but at the same time this is not them being beaten in a fight, this is them sneaking in directly. no time to detect changelings. a bold move
but one that could NEVER last but still leaves chrysalis at the advantage. even when her drones are exposed and defeated, she sitll has the alicorns hostage.
i feel so conflicted cause they are being beaten, and not even by a more powerful force, but at the same time these guys are sneaking in and doing what changelings do. and more than likely they used magic that immediately removed them from the area, like what happened to twilight.
damn this finale and the conflict ti creates within me.

okay, i have a very perseonal issue with this. largely that i have a hard time imagining that changelings could overpower luna and celestia in any capacity.
though to be fair they did capture cadance, likely from suddenl attack and numbers, in a similar manner. there is no way that changelings could overpower the princesses on their own ground and warry. Even they could be vulenrable to sudden attacks.
Largely ones that likely are not lethal in intent. cause they are hte sneakiest
though of course chrysalis plan is chock fulla holes here. mainly that it would not take long for ponies to see through the fakes. and considering they are only mimics, and changleings fall like playing cards, ya.
wouldn’t change that their rulers are abducted.
