@archestereo: Uh, actually the experts never said so. In fact the REAL experts on the Mayan calendar have consistently stated that the significance of the 21st of December 2012 is roughly the same as the 1st of January for any year too the Gregorian Calendar. In other words: the whole thing resets and its the beginning of a new cycle.
 
The Mayans were accomplished mathematicians by the standards of the time… but being a good mathematician has very little to do with understanding how the world was going too end.
 
The “experts” who said it was the end of the world were actually hacks.

Really the only reason we even gave the 2012 thing any credence is because of all that jazz about the mayans being accomplished mathematicians and such; in other words, it came down to “the experts said so.” If anything, this proves that we can’t even take what experts say at face value and should question pretty much everything.

I dreamt I was the 8-headed dragon Orochi and fought Amaterasu and everything went blurry. I woke up feeling… different…  
It was just a dream anyway…

Well the stream is um. Interesting.

Pretty meh. I’m disappointed. No big explosions, or earthquakes or floods. Just a little snow. The sun didn’t even go out.
