I think they meant if they still need magic to fly, why make the bones hollow if they offer so little weight advantage given the consequences noted?

it’s part of many works of fanfiction that pegasus magic negates this and I equate “pegasi wouldn’t even be able to get out the ground walk on clouds or steward thee weather without their magic
No amount of “hollow bones” is going to let pegasi generate physical lift or hover in place as they can; whether the skeleton is 15% of bodymass (humans) or 5% (birds) doesn’t matter.
