Wouldn’t Applejack be able to tell if Chrysalis was lying through her? I mean we heard her vanguardian say that she can tell when someone’s lying, so she should be able to as well

I’m actually inclined to think she’s telling the truth. We’ve never seen the elements used against changelings, so they may either have no effect (there is nothing corrupting them or innately chaotic about them) or they will vaporize both Chysalis and Bon Bon, as both are changelings. Either way, it’s bad.
She turned Bon Bon into a changeling for a reason, and she would know better than anyone what could hurt one. So would a student of Celestia, she claims. And Lyra is not denying it twice. Of course, it’s likely Bon Bon is still going to prove essential for some plan Chrysalis cannot foresee, but it might still be a steep price to pay for the heroes.
… Yeah, I don’t buy it for a second. At this point, I’m just assuming that literally every word coming out of Chrysalis’s mouth is the most hurtful lie she can say that will advance her agenda.
Not to mention how she’d take vengeance if any of them decide to chance it and go to the Rainbooms about it.
