Dusk woke up to the sound of knocking on his door.
 
“Coming…” he mumbled. He straightened up from his bed and lumbered over to the door, using his magic to open it. Outside the door was Cheerilee, walking groggy but happy to see him.
 
“Hey Dusk! So, your mother’s working all day today and Galaxy hasn’t gotten used to me yet, so, I wanted to know if you wanted to spend the day together?”
 
At this, Dusk instantly perked up. “We could go around town, get some ice cream?” she asked with a slight smile.
 
Dusk just stared at her and Cheerilee was alarmed to find tears coming from his eyes. “Goodness! Dusk, are you ok?”
 
Dusk put his head into her chest and hugged her tight. Cheerilee stiffened, but relaxed and hugged back. “It’s ok Dusk.”
 
“He never loved me,” Dusk said through tears. Cheerilee hugged him tighter.
 
“He didn’t realize what he was missing.”
