Description
Got her basic movements implemented. Now all I need to do aside from her gethits and gaurds is to figure out what kind of attacks she should have. I’m definitely open to suggestions. Ignore the fluttershy placeholder nameplate on her healthbar for now.

Indeed. In fact, “Retro City Rampage” was originally going to be an 8-bit fan demake of GTA, but becoming it’s own game allowed it to have it’s own characters, do more, and be more satirical & humorous of the genre.
“Freedom Planet” was gong to be a Sonic fan-game too, but then after it became it’s own game, that allowed them to do things they couldn’t do with Sonic. (That would normally piss off Sonic fans.) Like give each character more unique abilities, each their own simple fighting moves, and such.
Exactly. It being its own thing opens up a lot more possibilities.
Making it it’s own original game also allows it to become it’s own series, or indie game perhaps. Might even open up possibilities for a console release, if they can find a publisher.
Don’t get me wrong, I really love MLP as a show and I’m honestly very attached to them. But as far as a game is a concerned, TFH appeals to me more than Fighting is Magic.
There’s bit of written lore for TFH’s world and characters that I find really fascinating and enjoy that I want to see built upon, I like that the game has a wide variety in species and character design, and I think the current engine and graphics in TFH looks better compared to FIM.
If I were to scale my attachment it would look something like this: Friendship is Magic < Them’s Fighting Herds < Fighting is Magic

I think the dividing line between FiM and TFH is that with FiM, we’ve been with and known the characters for almost a full decade, we’ve seen their ups and downs which gets us attached to them, almost like a time-old friend. Now that creates a divergent, those who want to see an evolution of it’s characters, and those who don’t want to see the little horses they cherish so much get hurt.
With TFH, most of us haven’t had as long enough of a period to get attached to Oleander and her crew, most people only know as far as Velvet and Arizona because they were the first two and the most commonly referenced(that I’ve seen), eitherway TFH is that “New” kid, people wanna be cool with but are also shy of.
Ultimately it’s a matter of values and level of de/attachment
don’t mind me though I’m just making observational commentary.

I like both too, I just prefer TFH a smidge more.
I like both, even though TFH is not the same game as FiM.
I like Fighting Herds a bit more than this, tbh.
Fighting Herds. Fighting Herds is boring.
Apparently, or she’s not Sweetie at all.
@Sunbusting
There apparently used to be a Zalgojack in the actual game or what used to be one. Whatever happened to it is unknown.
Alright cool, well if you need any game mechanic or design assistance as I said to phoenix i’ll be open.
Sorry about that, I’ve been having a bit of trouble keeping up with all the comments I’ve been getting as of late. In terms of characters, I’m definitely planning on adding more such as zecora, gilda, changeling drone, cmc, and 4 more characters to fill in the remaining empty roster slots that I still have yet to decide on(I’ll also be adding more stages correlating to these characters in the future). I’m still just starting out with this project, so I don’t necessarily have a strong idea of how I’ll be going about it. However, my main priority at this moment is to complete the spritework and moveset planning for each character before anything else. I have no plans on adding evil or “zalgo” versions of any of these characters into this version.
@Beau Skunky
I was actually thinking moreso of a friendly, happy-go-lucky “I love everyone and hate no one!” smooch instead of a flirty one when I animated it. But I can see that I may have overdone it a tad with the edition of the hearts and overall idea. I’ll most likely be going with PaperBagPony’s suggestion of changing it to a muffin-based attack in the next update.

Did you see the questions I asked?
@Phoenixflambe
Alrighty, like I said I’m open to try and help if I get the chance.
@Sunbusting
I never really saw her as the kissy/flirty type.
@Phoenixflambe
Sweetie becomes a bad guy?
Yeah, you’re right. I guess story-wise, I could continue using the trailer where Sweetie Belle turns into some sort of Shadow Pony (not you Stygian), it’s the closest we have to the synopsis of the story so there. The story actually takes place before Twilight’s alicornization so that’s a given, I could add a bonus chapter featuring the latest season characters or make that bonus chapter as its own game, who knows? I also don’t need to focus on the art and voice yet since they are just aesthetics, so yeah.
For now, I do not intend on completing the game development yet since I am quite busy with life. It’s just an idea that I will hold on to.
I think the sprites can be ripped from the actual game files through a sprite-ripper. Though I’ll be more than happy to provide all the sprites upon request when she’s finished.
The quick kiss animation is just a little place holder for her weak attack at the moment. I thought it was a good idea at the time since I always saw Derpy as a super sweet pony, but I’ve been thinking recently that there are probably better ideas for it.
