Then again, the only original changeling I remember using their horn for magic was Chrysalis, so maybe it’s a changeling royalty thing.
You’re mostly right. The others did use it in A Canterlot Wedding Part 2 though.
I know it’s two years late.

Those just seemed to disappear in the process of transformation, and then reappear when they transformed back.
 
Though now that you mention it, when they’ve transformed back, I remember them also having their helmets back on. Interesting…

Mmh… it looks like the changeling transformation is maybe a split-second faster than the hippogriff transformation… but it’s really hard to tell.
