Is find a filly in the forest
 
And no matter WHO that filly is even if it where nightmare moon or cozy glow she would never leave a child in the everfree forest under any circumstances and if i remember correctly she was bitchy towards spike and it turned me off immediately

How exactly is she considered out of character, when I read through the book, most of her situation was believable from her perspective of finding Nyx inside of the Everfree Forest and torn over whether she really is Nightmare Moon or not, for all she knew at the time Nyx might be Nightmare Moon or she could be an anomaly that merely LOOKED like Nightmare Moon, regardless she couldn’t bring herself to harm her without knowing all of the details, and by the time she reached the conclusion that Yes Nyx is Nightmare Moon reborn, she had already treated Nyx like a daughter, and that the major difference between Nyx and the Nightmare Moon that they fought against was that Nightmare Moon was devoured made from Lunas anger towards the ponies she helped rule over for ignoring her, and for Celestia abandoning her in her time of need.  
“Nightmare Moon” simply wanted the love, respect, and adoration of her subjects, she wanted to have friends just like Celestia did. Nyx managed to get what her previous incarnation lacked by being part of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, by befriending Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, and Twist; Nyx had managed to get what she had always wanted from friends that cared about her, that loved her for herself.  
Looking back on this, Twilight had realized that Nyx wasn’t a threat to Equestria, and that she wasn’t truly the same pony as Nightmare Moon, that she was simply just another little filly that happened to look like Nightmare Moon in form, but not be her in personality and spirit.
 
Also, recqll that the story itself was written before Season 2, and was revised to take place after the events of A Royal Canterlot Wedding , when the characters were simpler in scope and personality compared to what would happen in the later seasons.

Well you’ve managed to draw Nyx with her signature Cutie Mark, so I’m going to assume you did manage to read through 19 chapters of the story before deciding to quit.  
Even so, I honestly don’t understand why there are people in the world that seem to be offended by Nyx.
