I wonder if she has any connections with the Alicorn Amulet which also has a red aura?
They never really explained the origins nor the working of that thing. While still making references and mentions to it as late as season 6 when Trixie appeared.

However, in the case of a pony where we’ve not seen their magic, it is a good shot-in-the-dark if you are doing new art for them. It works about 75% of the time.

I believe show staff said somewhere that her magic changed after she was redeemed. Remember, her geode is red now, too!

i think it’s so they don’t mix up sunset’s aura with
worst ponyglimmer’s.I dunno about you guys, but I remember from the first movie her aura was the same as her eye colour.

I don’t know why YayPonies continues to do that color correction thing. It was only ever good for the S1 iTunes rips.
I (and my group) only use the unedited iTunes HD rip, so yeah.

I believe those are the colours we’ve had for a while (colour corrected). However the question still stands as to how accurate they really are. This scene puts it to rest as we can pick the full, unfiltered colours.

No but there are those that do, and have done so before.
Yes, though not everyone knows how to color correct like that.
There’s also the simple matter that color-correcting the night scenes allows one to perceive Sunset’s colors, since we know how the other ponies look in the light and from there can adjust the brightness to get Sunset’s color.
To be fair, physical merchandise and its packaging is not really a good reference for colors
We’ve had proper colors for Sunset all along, she’s been in pony form on numerous pieces of merchandise, the Gameloft game, and some promotional materials.
