This don’t have exactly a history going with it. The idea was that Sombra cast a spell at the last minute thus surviving the Crystal Heart wave however at the cost of his horn and several permanet scars. The Crystal King now walk on the shadows seeking anything who could restore his mighty while avoiding the forces of harmony.  
In one night while in Ponyville, he is spotted by a peculiar filly after a fierce battle with three royal guards. What would came from this? Is this the begining of an epic journey? Will I write this fanfic?
 
These questions may never be answered but who knows? Anyways, that was the backstory behind this drawing.

Huraay!! Second work with mixed media! The results are amazing(at least to me) and it took only 2 hours. Also the background is totally not made digitally with gimp
