I’m actually surprised ponies didn’t go out of their way to make her life miserable before. Her show pretty much consisted of humiliating others as hard as possible. F*ck the Ursa thing, she had something coming for being a jerk.

But yeah, she’s kind of a mix of sympathy and badass vengeful Trixie. Her life has hit the shitter, and it’s turned her into a real vindictive bitch.

Which is kind of how it was destined to turn out.

How laughably predictable this thread went.
Except for Frels belting out winnage, I like this newpony.

anyway, glad for no-sympathy-trixie, admirable badass trixie looks a lot cooler. 40% so! Although I think they should have gone Yamino’s route, and had a black hat and cape but still with her old star motif. >>58018

I don’t get it. Trixie here actually makes me really sad. Her situation is her own fault, yet I still don’t can’t help but feel pity and a longing for her to get rid of that down expression

WHY
Background Pony #E0CC
I want fanart of Trixie post-Boast Busters and pre-Magic Duel. Struggling through her life, getting laughed at and getting her property defaced, working her flank off in the rock fields. And eventually stumbling across this mysterious amulet.
Background Pony #C653
@Candrew: Agreed, that made up for everything bad I’ve ever said about her. I hated her before, but now she might just be best pony.
Frels

@candrew, and mine as well. We were kinda both being dumb about this, but at least we ended it reconciled, that’s what’s important, right? Here’s hoping that Magic Duel ends on a similar note, or even that Trixie leaves with evil head held high, I won’t know until Saturday.
DasHiveMind

I though everyone used sympathetic as “You can relate as to why their doing something, or can atleast understand why their doing it.”, not that you condone their actions?

@Frels Oh, shit. That makes much more sense, and in retrospect i should have realized that a dozen posts ago. I kind of got caught on Takashi’s statements that I completely missed the main context of yours. My bad.
DasHiveMind

Let me put it to you this way. A bank forcloses on you mortgage, and you take revenge. Do you think you have enough personal power, to only take revnge on the one who directly ruined your life, or will you cave in and take revenge on everyone related to your forcloser? Most people I know would cave in*. Trixies career and reputation were ruined, she’s a confused and emotional mare who got power, and she has power to right herself, if not actually beneficial, atleast to personally satisfy her need for revenge, it’s easier to understand that way.

*Revenge does not have to be murder.

@candrew, I’ve taken a short breather to look over what’s been written so far and I think I isolated the cause of this thread getting blown to hell: We all have different definitions of sympathetic. I’ve already said it, but I don’t think Trixie is in the right in this ep. When I say she is sympathetic, I say that she has fairly realistic, or at least followable, emotions and trains-of-thought that lead to her terroizing Ponyville. I can understand what started her rampage, even if I don’t agree with it. I’m sorry for this whole shameful display, I’m also very excited about the next episode, I hope this misunderstanding, if I was right, can be cleared. I wasn’t trying to justify Trixie, just explain her, I like her new act too.

I remember some of those. Didn’t really post much back then though.

Anyway, while its died down a little, I want to clarify this one point. I like new Trixie, I just don’t think she is sympathetic in any way. Maybe that will change after the episode, but based on what we have seen so far it is unlikely.
DasHiveMind

You think this is bad? On Ponibooru, their was a thread discussing the antagonist morality (Gilda, Trixie, and the Flim&Flam bros), their was something like a post every couple seconds, it was ridiculous.

@ BP No, no, don’t get me wrong. I like new Trixie, before she was just kind of boring, now I’m excited for this episode. Sorry if that first response came off a little blunt, by the time I finish typing anything three other posts show up.
Background Pony #ECAD
Candrew, sorry, I type really slow and there are more people in this thread talking now. Also, you didn’t seem to know that, as you seem to be dissatisfied with any character reacting in a way that isn’t fully logical and objectively thought-out.

^ Alright fine, if it will make you happy, she probably doesn’t know. She probably just thought dominating an entire town would make her look better.

Name one time that the Mane 6 were recognized as the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony and saviours of Equestria, by anyone not Shining Armor or the Princesses. Name one time Twilight’s status as Celestia’s protege was pointed out as a denotation of prestige. Name one single moment, outside of the Big Bad two-parters that they are treated as heros. Almost nobody knows or cares, why would Trixie.
