I actually went to the Tag Discussion thread because I wasn’t sure whether or not to tag this as a leak or not. Someone said it should be tagged leak and I ultimately did.
But you’re right, if anyone didn’t see the leak and if the artist didn’t mention being inspired by the leak, it could have easily fooled someone into thinking this is just simply another fanmade AU based on G4.

Pretty much. Unless the leaker put some fake stuff along with the real stuff (a common practice when things leak in other fandoms). But given that this person has leaked stuff in the past and has never leaked fake information before, I’m leaning towards them being real.

Someone may have thought that the artist didn’t look at the leaks or made the picture before the leaks.

Actual episodes were leaked along with that info and emails from the staff.
Not alot to support them being fake.
Unfinalized, but not fake.
It’s kind of a mix of both given the artist’s descriptions of these pictures.

They’ve been doing that a while. Lots of fandoms do that. For example, I’ve seen Pokemon fans make fanart of fake leaked Pokemon all the time.
