Xipilli is the only child of Ahuizotl and Daring Do (A.K. Yearling).
Before his conception, Daring Do had brought Ahuizotl to Ponyville in an attempt to reform him. Despite his actions to try and destroy the world and constant thieving, Daring had a feeling he was capable of being good deep down.. So she sought out Fluttershy to try and reform him the way she was able to reform Discord. For a little while, it seemed to be working. Ahuizotl was becoming more friendly overtime and even polite to Daring. Eventually the two of them started casually hanging out, and she learned to actually like the new Ahuizotl. She let her guards down, and she ended up falling in love with this new, reformed Mythical creature.
The two of them shared some romantic nights and before Daring was ready to officially confess how she felt, she saw Ahuizotl attempting to sneak out and steal the Elements of Harmony. His entire goal was to pretend to reform so he could steal the Elements from under her friends’ noses. Daring Do was just a pastime fling to try and break her. Betrayed and broken hearted, Daring Do put a stop to his scheme and revealed his intentions to Twilight and her friends; They caught him before he could get away and Twilight had guards exhile him from Equestria. It was only until a month or so later that Daring discovered she was pregnant with that traitors offspring.
When Xipilli was first born, Daring Do wanted to hate him. She saw his similar features and resemblance to Ahuizotl, and wanted nothing to do with him at first. Her original plan was to abandon him at an orphanage, but right before she set out to do that, baby Xipilli opened his eyes and looked up into his mothers eyes and she couldn’t do it. Despite her pain, the maternal instinct kicked in and she ended up falling in love with her baby boy, despite how she felt about Ahuizotl. She named him “Xipilli”, meaning “Jeweled Prince” and promised never to think horrible thoughts like that again, and she would protect him with her life.
Ahuizotl knew nothing of Daring Do’s pregnancy until he found a way to sneak back into Equestria almost a year later and returned to Ponyville to try again, only to spy and discover the existance of the son he never knew existed instead. He knew Xipilli was his son immediately based on his features. While Daring Do and Xi slept, Ahuizotl snuck inside and sntached Xipilli; running back to the Everfree forest with his kidnapped son in his clutches. Ahuizotl relocated his temple outside of Equestria in a place no pony knew where to find him.
Daring never gave up her search once she discovered her son was missing.
For most of Xipilli’s life he was raised by Ahuizotl. Ahuizotl tried raising him as an heir, a partner in crime for his schemes to destroy Equestria. All of Ahuizotl’s teachings and ways of living reflected on Xipilli, resulting in Xipilli becoming a sexist, bigoted thief raised to believe females were the weaker of the sexes, and that males are the stronger and true warriors of the world. (This is based on the older ways of thinking and that all his subjects/guards are male)
Xipilli was already grown by the time Daring Do found them, and he knew nothing of his mother. After many fights and arguements, Daring was somehow able to convince Xipilli to go with her; not knowing it was just another plan of Ahuizotl’s to infiltrate Equestria again using Xipilli as the gateway.
When Xipilli got to Equestria with his mother, he fully intended to live up to his father and steal the elements; until he got to Ponyville and met a certain pony by the name of Nova. She was in her Royal Guard armor after a training session, and Xipilli confronted her about it. Being taught to believe females were the weaker sex, he was confused as to why and how she was able to be a “warrior”. After Daring introduced him and explained to everypony that he was raised by Ahuizotl, Nova explained to Xipilli how the world really worked; and that there was no “weaker sex”. This confused Xipilli and started second questioning everything his father ever told him.
Daring Do asked Nova to assist in teaching Xipilli the ways of the real world, and after a while, Xipilli learned everything he thought he knew was completely wrong. He finally saw Ahuizotl for what he was; a Monster. Xipilli then vowed to change his ways and tha the would not follow after his father, and stayed in Equestria with his mother. This in turn outraged Ahuizotl which sent an army to attack Equestria; of course ending in his defeat. The Princesses had him sent to Tartarus under heavy surveillance and Xipilli was welcomed as an official citizen of Equestria.
Xipilli ended up making friends with Nova and her brother, Crescendo. Crescendo taught him some things Nova couldn’t teach him; and vice-versa. Eventually, Xipilli smartened up and became one of the most polite and trustworthy ponies around.
Xipilli ended up falling in love with Nova, becoming infatuated by her bravery and strength. She was everything he originally always wanted to be but never could. After reforming himself, he then learned he wanted something else besides power; he wanted Nova. So he began to woo her. Nova couldn’t help falling for him too, and the two became almost inseperable.
It didn’t take long to discover Nova was pregnant with their soon to be born daughter, Quetzalli. This led to many heated arguements and eventually leading to Xipilli proposing to Nova. They did not get married until almost a year after Quetzalli was born.
Now Xipilli is a stay at home father and wouldn’t change a thing about it. He loves his wife and daughter, and he never regret leaving his father’s old ways behind.
