Aura Shine is the first born daughter of Soarin and Rainbow Dash. Much like her mother, she has always been an active and headstrong filly. Rainbow named her as she did because she said “there’s an aura coming from her that just seems so bright.. almost shining” when she first layed eyes on her daughter after she was born. Of course there was no physical aura, but Rainbow could sense it.
Aura like both her parents, was an excellent flyer from the moment she started flapping her wings. Although its common for all newborn pegasi to know how to fly, she never lost the ability as she got older.
Despite her parent’s pleas, Aura Shine showed no interest in becoming a Wonderbolt like them. Sure, she liked the team, and loved that her parents are both Wonderbolts.. But she was more interested in weather and being able to control the elements.
Aura Shine’s best friend growing up was Dart (Son of Bulk Biceps and Fluttershy) and their friendship quickly became a relationship. Despite Dart being raised by two doormats (so to speak) he actually ended up being quite daring and competitive, which always kept their relationship on edge, but in a good way. Dart and Aura are still together.
Not long after she got her cutie mark, Aura Shine was introduced to a new member of the family; Her little brother Jet Streak. She was excited to have a brother, seeing as she was worried the baby would turn out to be a filly and she’d try to convince her to do girly things. (She was still a filly at this stage, she didn’t like hanging out with other fillies her age because she wasn’t interested in anything they were interested in - All her friends were colts) So naturally, Aura and Jet got along from day one. As Jet got older he became even more competitive than Aura, and his cockiness began to shine through, leading to Aura and Jet into many many sibling arguements.
After Jet came their little sister, Rainboom. Now that Aura was older she wasn’t worried if her little sister ended up being girly or not, she was just glad not to have another annoying brother.. And to her surprise, Rainboom was pretty much just like her. Aura would do anything for her baby sister and have a very strong sisterly bond.
Despite not being realy close to Nova or the other Elements of Friendship, Aura Shine was discovered to be the Element of Integrity, and was there to help save Crescendo’s life. After that situation was taken care of, Aura Shine began hanging out with the group more, and started visiting Ponyville more often. Out of all of the Elements, Aura likes hanging out with Chimi the most. Like their parents, they like schemeing and coming up with fun ways to surprise others. But when it was time to be serious, she turned to Nova to talk and keep company with. Aura tried to stay clear of Clarity though, seemed those two would always start fighting if they were left alone for more than 4 minutes.
