there’s actually an animated thing about G3->G4 rainbow dash in cuphead meets my little pony but it’s mostly played for laughs. what I wanna see is a story about G4 rainbow dash flipping out because rarity’s new friend / business partner is also named rainbow dash. then at the end of the episode a little filly with a tiny horn runs by with a toy magic wand in her mouth.

I once read a fanfic like that involving G3 Rainbow Dash getting turned into G4 Rainbow Dash. And no, I don’t have a link. This was a long time ago and I have no idea what that fanfic was or if it’s even still around.

Oh, ok. I thought it was just an accidental merge. Those happen. Like once I saw two images merged even though one of them had slightly different colors.

They shouldn’t have merged these. The more recent one was an edit of the original comic by omitting the later parts.

what really kills me about this is that g5 applejack isn’t g4 applejack. just like g4 rainbow dash isn’t g3 rainbow dash, and g4 scootaloo isn’t g3.5 OHGODMAKETHEEVILLEAVEMYBRAIN. they just have the same names.
 
it’s like if your name was jesus martinez, and people kept running up to you and screaming “oh no jeezus! what happened to you? who made you grow that terribly fabulous and full moustache?”
 
if I were a hasbro exec, what I’d be pushing for is sneaking a little g4 cameo in the background, so fans lose their shit, and people stop acting like focusing on a new character by the same name is equivalent to lobotomizing the old one.

“If” I were one of Hasbro employee seeing this, I am not surprised someone would doubt my place’s idea just because it hasn’t yet happened and my place made a dark past to fans, but I see as this is an expression paranoid viewpoint of not having faith in the show producer after the tragic drama back in 2013. Whatever happens, I must warn the fellow Hasbro members about how the adult fans greatly impacts the children’s decision on picking up the show, as more and more parents of children are looking for cartoons with good humor and good moral at the same time like in G4, in which most other cartoons can’t compete, not even Transformers as well. When parents see bad cartoons, they’ll scare their children about it, so no matter what, even big companies have weak point despite the strong point. I need to make sure Hasbro is able to keep the parents able to recommend the show to children, please have faith in us, we’re sorry about what happened.
 
Huh, people even doubt season 9 before it came out better than you people expected.

It’s almost as if Applejack’s hardworking character wasn’t the real problem the whole time but rather the ill-defined properties of earth pony magic, her lack in characterization compared to her friends since S1, the constant repeat of  
>muh apuls, muh family, muh honesty  
without any other quirk and generally her episodes just objectively being consistently absolutely awful.  
It is not for nothing that a lot of people see her as a good addition to an episode as long as she’s not the main character.  
Also Bighckintosh was the hero we needed and deserved.
