There seems to be a road running southeast of Griffonstone towards an unrevealed location. I’m quite curious to what lies east of Griffonestone, the landmass appears to be cut off.  
There also appears to be a shoreline lined with a snowy mountain range north of the frozen northern portion of Celestial Sea that borders the Yaket Range. Hinting possibly another continent or the other half of the continent Griffonstone is on, on the other side of the planet.
 
The Undiscovered West looks like a land bridge leading to an unknown location westward of the Luna Oceans.
 
That port settlement west of the Cave of Conundrum is still unnamed. But it appears to be the southernmost terminus of the Friendship Express and perhaps the Equestrian realm. There appears to be a Eastern style Junk vessel sailing westward from that port if you look closely enough. the architecture don’t look eastern at all. So it’s likely a merchant ship returning to its homeland in an currently unrevealed location. Though it’s also possible it sails around the south tip of the continent, passing the Storm King’s Realm an the Hippogriff Kingdom, towards the Kirin Grove.

I do agree, though; I wouldn’t mind seeing the Diamond Dogs again.

Minotaur and diamond dogs seem to live within Equestrian territory.  
Speaking of diamond dogs. I think it’s about damn time they get another appearance in the Pony side of the series.

All things considered, the only location where bipedal creatures were seen in significant amounts was Klugetown – the only other bipeds were the pirates (who don’t seem to have a fixed home) and the Storm King and his minions (which would seem to put the Storm King’s Realm on the list). Most of the other places seemed uninhabited, and the hippogriffs are also quadrupeds.
 
So, a city in the desert and an island. When you look at the map, that’s really not very much. You still have over 90% of Equestria’s continent, plus the landmasses where the griffins and dragons live (since whether the Kirin Grove is home to Mistmane’s people or actual kirins or both, it’s still quadrupeds) and, at least in theory, wherever it is the zebras live. It’s still very much a world dominated by four-legged species.
 
I will grant you that living conditions seem to take a nosedive once you leave Equestria. Griffonstone, Yakyakistan and the dragon lands also had their… unattractive sides. Outside of spots like Mount Aris and Mistmane’s land, Equestria is very much an island of peace and culture in a rather barbaric world.

I just saw The Movie yesterday, I find it strange. I always thought hooved quadruplepedic creatures are the dominant sentient creatures in the MLP World but you see other creatures like in Klugetown.
 
And is the My Little Pony world isn’t all happiness, rainbow, and sunshine? But rather it’s own version of a harsher reality once step of Equestria.

I want to know what are Nightmare Cliffs and what’s in Undiscovered West D:

There seems to be another frozen mountain range on another landmass further north beyond Mount Everhoof and the sea that borders it in the north.

Or the Northern reach of an unrevealed region on the continent Griffonstone is on. There’s still a lot of land and a road that seems to lead to somewhere running south of Griffonstone. A waterway that leads east to somewhere and the other half of the landmass the Dragon’s Lair and Kirin Grove that seems to be cut off from the current map.
 
I think it’s safe to say that the entire western hemisphere of the planet has been mapped, but not yet explored.  
All that’s left is the other side of the planet.

Nightmare Cliffs looks ominous.  
Why is there a horsehead statue there?  
An entrance to a cave?

The last published map we had uploaded here was (I think) from the Art of Equestria book, and Derpibooru received a cease & desist from Hasbro on that and quickly removed it.
 
Since this map is an official (unlabeled) public release with labels edited in after the fact, it should be legal to keep it here.
 
That said, the MLP “Ultimate Guide” that is coming should have a map, but it’s likely that would also get a C&D if posted here.

I’m making that assumption because that’s precisely what they’ve done for both previous versions of the map, and I have not seen anything suggesting or implying that they have reason or intent to not do so the third time they release a map.

You’re making an assumption that Hasbro is planning to release a labeled version at some specific time. If they do we have no idea, because it’s not the sort of thing they announce ahead of time.

Given that this is apparently a third-party edit, how would one find out when the official version is released?

Anyone else thinks this map looks vaguely like that of Valentia?

The Badlands is a flat orange-brown desert area full of tall, bulky rock formations reminiscent of Colorado. The hive dominates a smaller region with short, sharp, triangular formations jutting out of the ground. They look very different. If they were the same place there is no way the hive wouldn’t be visible in the shot where Chrysalis is blasting off again.  
 
This shot also implies that the badlands are visible from Canterlot, which why wouldn’t they be unless the Macintosh Hills were obstructing the view.
 

 
The closest reasonable potential location of the hive would be on the dragon continent, south of the Dragon’s Lair.

Political map didn’t got any better than in Dream Valley times. I mean, they use “Equestria” both as a country name, continent name, planet name and universe name.

Now I wanna know the story behind the Nightmare Cliffs. What the hell are those the ruins of? A temple dedicated to Nightmare Moon? The crumbling patina of a mysteriously abandoned Equestrian colony, ala Roanoke? A bankrupt sea pony theme park? Someone explain it, man!!

Capper mentions Black Skull Island in one of the trailers, but most of the rest are listed in the movie update to the Gameloft game.
