Indeed. Look closely: in one frame, Twilight gets hit by one layer, then there are suddenly five at once. And look at the others’ positions; they’re suddenly further back when the cake squishes down. This is a good frame comparison:

Also, look at the pinkie popping her head out, it was a jump cut.
Yes, it’s clear its a jump cut for that.
Maybe the rest of the pink frosting slid off before the candle dropped down. Remember, they cut the part where Twilight says, “Pinkie!”. Just simple splicing.
