“director’s favorite”
Like that means anything for an animated TV series.
And Spike would win any internet poll asking who Twilight’s BFF is (except, maybe, if Luna was an option); even if kids might vote differently, you know the ballot box stuffers would be running bots to ensure he won handily. At least he would deserve it, IMHO; I know Twilight has called Shining Armor her BBBFF, but I think voters in a poll like this are justified in voting based one what’s actually been shown in the series.
@AlushyTheTyrant
there is definitely something going on like starlight is the director’s favorite character or something. neither celestia or starlight are even reasonable candidates to being twilight’s bff; they’re both teacher/pupil relationships. i’m wiling to bet they had celestial advice and a royal problem long planned to air and the results of the poll will be moot to begin with. it’s the only reason i can think why they’d pick these two as the only choices for her “bff”.
it’s too bad, actually. a poll where which of the mane 7 is her closest friend and they’d air an appropriate episode would have been pretty cool. personally, i’d love to see which of the ponies or spike the fanbase as a whole considers to be twi’s closest friend.
For as much as fax machine is used and abused since season 1, he’d be much better off in the Crystal Empire where he’s adored, and not have his feelings/emotions toyed with by the others.
Hey yeah why isn’t Spike a choice? The only two options are her teacher and her pupil, as opposed to people I would reasonably consider to actually count as a friend like Spike, the rest of the mane six, Moondancer, Shining Armor, Cadance… :P
But if I had to pick between the two I think it would be Starlight

If any character is affected by a retcon, all evidence points to Babs, if anyone at all. And the only evidence is that she’s only been seen with her cutie mark in one throwaway comic.

But we can still prove a point.
I’ll get to you later when I figure out what that point is.
It’s a Morton’s Fork. The same pair of episodes can be shown regardless of who wins the vote.
Rather clever, although a bit evil, of the Discovery Family folks.
Yep.

One of these days we’re going to wake up and find that Starlight Glimmer has been in every episode since S1.
Like A Bird in the Hoof or Lesson Zero?
They could also feature some older episodes featuring Celestia and Twilight’s relationship too.
What a dick move.
it’s a contest between princess celestia and starlight glimmer, and winner gets featured in back-to-back episodes.
the only two episodes that could even be considered princess celestia episodes are actually starlight glimmer episodes.
this thing is more staged than a russian election.
Yes.
the two of this season; which coincidentally have Starlight on them; so, who wins here doesn’t really matter.
