Backstory

When AJ was 13, she was visiting Rarity with her little 6 year old sister Applebloom. (As mentioned in Rarity’s bio…) Some of the villagers had helped some refugees and, as punishment, Sombra sent a small legion of his army to destroy the town. AJ and Rarity were separated from Applebloom and Sweetie Belle and spent all night looking, but couldn’t find the little 6 year olds.

After days of fruitless searching, they eventually assumed that the girls had been killed. It was here that AJ began noticing the violence, distrust, and general fear of the surrounding towns. She and Rarity made a vow that they would try whatever they could to free their country and prevent more innocent bloodshed.

When Rarity moved to Ponyville to continue her family’s sewing business, AJ managed to catch the tail end of a merchant caravan to the Crystal Empire. She sat for days on end in a crystal room, waiting for the chance to speak to the Empress. She finally got the opportunity and implored not just the Empress but the Princesses (Luna and Tia) to try and take back Equestria. She managed to convince them, and also became acquaintances (not quite friends yet) with Twilight, who was very passionate about taking back her home country. >>[Rebellion AU- Twilight and Spike]

General

Applejack is now working at Sweet Apple Acres, the family farm. She was also offered an apprenticeship with Doctor Whooves, the town inventor, and she took it eagerly. With an impending rebellion, you never know when you might need that fancy-dancy inventing stuff.

Big Mac is the main source of muscle in the fields now that AJ is spending quite a bit of time at the Doctor’s. He loves the quiet hills and orchards, and sometimes even spends the night out if he’s really far from the house. All the mares in town are head over hooves in love with him but Big Mac, being the boy he is, is completely oblivious to it all.

Granny Smith took Applebloom’s assumed death very hard and has become more snappy and sharp than before. She also had to retire from the fields, something that infuriates her (she hates being cooped up). The thing that really helps her unwind is baking. She runs the family baking stand in the market.

I’ve been trying to micro-detail my lineart more, and I think I pulled it off with this :D

AJ has a compass on her glove, a wooden mallet and some scrolls on her belt, and potions on her arm. The metal discs on her hip are coins on a string.

I gave Big Mac a harness. I figured it would be more practical than toting a huge, bulky yoke around on his shoulders. (also it looks purty dang good on u boi XD)
