I think they decided to move the knee higher in the final sketch. it would be really silly for a good artist like this to think of a heel as a knee. it’s a good thing to point out though, because people don’t realize how high a pony’s knee really is.

to do perspective, first draw a box around the pony, in the perspective you want the pony to be in. then draw the pony inside that box.

Seems like you can alter it for body size too. Might try it. But yes, the perspective is a bit weird even if there’s good sfuff here.

Its a fine tutorial. I was merely expanding on what the other anon said. I feel that not enough people talk about perspective when I feel it can be really simplified with a little study and deliberate practice.

I find building on more blocker shapes works easier with figuring out perspective. I usually start with the scapula when i’m building a body. Personally, I feel the shoulder blades are the biggest landmark of the horse that’s easy to build on and figure out proportion and perspective.

Though I’ll be the first to admit this method certainly isn’t for everyone.

You changed your artist tag to raps even though we have another well known artist with tag rapps…. This confused me so much.

I’d recognize this background color anywhere.

Now all we need in that drawing is some small apple trees and crushed barn.

What we really need is a tutorial on perspective, since all these tutorials seem to fail in that regard.
