You did fine. The rough style of the brush strokes, the “cloudy” eyes, and the sidemouth have have the right look to them. The difference may be that Foxinshadow’s pictures generally have brighter contrasts, and they usually have some sort of action instead of being a simple portrait. It’s still pretty clear that you were emulating his style though, and it’s a nice picture.
