Background Pony #954D
After Equestria was taken over by a race of technologically-advanced humanoid aliens, Twilight Sparkle now lives miles away from what used to be Ponyville, which is now a crater-turned-lake. The humanoids were brutal in their conquest. The hippogriffs, bug bears, and changelings were now extinct thanks to them.

They have killed her friends one by one, they have murdered the Divine Sisters without hesitation, and everyone close to her was dead before the year ended. Overall, they ruled over Equis and subjugated the ponies and other races under their rule without asking questions.

She tried to fight them, but the former Princess of Friendship lost her horn thanks to them. Now, without any magic usable, she flew away and now lives in a cave near a secluded clearing far from the nearest settlement.

The sun and moon went on their own without pony intervention, weather and nature went by itself. Animals and plants introduced by the humanoids were quite familiar, though some were different, but they were not dependent on pony maintenance to survive. They grew, bred, and out-competed the flora and fauna of Equis, who couldn’t adapt to the new beasts. Within a matter of months, most of their Equestrian counterparts were extinct.

Without her horn, she is useless, but fortunately, she is still not alone. As the dehorned alicorn moped sadly under a tree, a lone butterfly flutters up to her, trying to cheer her up. This was not one of the butterflies from the home planet of the aliens, but an Equestrian butterfly, two of them, to be exact.

At least she had someone else to be with in her exile.
