they don’t use high frequency lasers “raw” mainly because as it is, they would need ridicolously cumbersome “firearms” and heavy batteries for a few shots, while conventional firearms can get the job done with a lot less fuss and heavier postation like anti-missiles batteries on warship suffers of similar limitation in combat

lasers? how are they more advanced than us in weaponry because to my knowledge we dont use lasers for military purposes but i might be wrong

Ouch.  
Lasers just keep going until they grow too diffuse due to scattering, or atmospheric interference.  
Although for one that size, it probably didn’t stop before the curvature of the earth took it away from things to destroy.  
There’s people, buildings, etc, with giant holes seared in them for a distance of several miles. Twilight got off lucky.
