Some more questions for Imago, along with some changeling head canon~
A lot of non-pony creatures seem to live for a really really long times, especially the villians, so it made sense to me that changelings could live to be pretty old XD Imago is still young and inexperience in comparison but she thinks she knows best :p typical kid
When designing my changelings I reference other insects, like honey bees, where there is a queen, and female and male drones. I like having a sense of almost realism but there is obviously magic in this world so gotta give it a bit of a fantasy feel too XD
But seeing as Changelings aren’t mindless animals, I can see them not killing the underdeveloped queens but instead use them as a breeder/underqueen class or kick them out. Even if said changeling was on the Royal Milk for a days and no phisiological changes even had chance to happen.
Perhaps… no. It couldn’t be. Is she… the legendary super cricket!?
Honey bees? Hmmm… I don’t know alot about their biology or reproduction system, but as long i can remember there’s some kind of royal honey and special treatment involved in the creation of a Queen/Fertile Bee… Anyways, I’m not going to spoil myself trying to guess, hehe, just like my grandmother told to me; “patience it’s always rewarding”.
BTW, I’m still not sure why I’m so interested about this thing about changelings, but it’s certainly entertaining.
I meant in the exception that is linked to reproduction, not my theory of her being a queen.
Well, as stated in the show, i theorize that the “exception” (Atleast in my own head cannon) must be that, when a changeling and another partner fall in a true and pure love it creates a Queen/King of another hive, that might explain why Chriss was the only Queen for such a long time as she was teaching young changelings to steal the love rather than try to earn it and share it, also their appearance doesn’t help alot, so it must be a very specific love partner. Also, it must be hard for a changeling to fall in a true and pure love because they need love in order to sustain their life, so they may seem love as a need rather than something they could feel towards someone, so it must be 1/1,000,000 as both already specific parthers must be at a very specific place and timing to make that happen.
(That last statement was made by my current show knowledge, i haven’t read any comics, so if there’s anything i have missed i would appreciate if you guys tell me)
It isn’t. It’s something else entirely different. ^^
OK. Still say that Imago will fall in that exception category.
Actually, Cat (the artist) briefly explained to me what the exception is, but she will publicly explain it later on in the future in further detail.
Edited
My guess is a “next queen” scenario, where it turns out that Imago is a Queen that hasn’t fully matured yet.
A changeling’s transformation may create a temporal sense of mass to compensate their size and form in general, but in terms of organ shapeshifting (Like wings or another type of limbs), it will act only as a vestigial organ as a creation of mass doesn’t mean a fully fuctional organism, perhaps, a changeling who has already bug wings may need to magically compensate the slow movement of a pegasus’ wings in order to appear more convincing as in a wingless changeling their wings will be purely aesthetic.
Edited because: Double reply
I thought the transformation only was visual, and didn’t change what organs there are.
I’m guessing that, while disguised, the disguise comes with fully functioning organs, which may or may not include a womb?
Well… that’s the magic of different interests.
Ayy
This is important.

Come on! She’s telling us about her personal feelings and changeling’s unknow traits and you guys are focusing on her belly? Ugh…
Is it really her belly, though?
