Ok, I have a new idea: In this scene, Celestia was a guest lecturer at Twilight’s school (magic kindergarten, elementary, preschool, it doesn’t matter) before she was admitted to Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. And she was already friends with the other Canterlot Six. I doubt the other Canterlot Six were admitted to Celestia’s School as well, but Twi remained in contact with them. Or maybe they were all admitted to the school. But she knew them before.
